Findlay Automotive Group and Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame Partner to Create Rich Abajian Leadership Scholarships

Scholarships to benefit Las Vegas area student-athletes

The Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame has partnered with the Findlay Automotive Group to create the Rich Abajian Leadership Scholarships. The scholarships will be awarded on June 24 when the SNSHOF inducts its class of 2016 at the Orleans Arena.

The Findlay Automotive Group has been instrumental in the development and growth of the Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame since its inception in 1997.

“It was the vision of Cliff Findlay, Tyler Corder and the late Rich Abajian to create an organization that could both honor outstanding achievements by Southern Nevada athletes and provide opportunities for our youth to participate in sports programs,” said Hall of Fame Executive Director Dan Dolby. “The Rich Abajian Leadership Scholarships will allow our organization to further support deserving high school student-athletes as they pursue their dream at the collegiate level.”

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the SNSHOF will honor four inductees. This diverse class includes the 1997-98 UNLV Golf Team, Marty Cordova, Frank Mir and Sig Rogich. Including this induction class, the Hall of Fame now consists of 93 members.

The Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization committed to recognizing the outstanding achievements by Southern Nevada athletes, both in the world of sports and the local community.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to organizations committed to the support and enhancement of Southern Nevada youth through active participation in programs designed to promote leadership, values and character through sports.
