Dr. Brad Rothermel

Brad Rothermel served as athletic director at UNLV during the school's most successful sports decade.

From 1981-91, Rothermel oversaw a department that made its place on the national sports stage.

He directed the UNLV Athletic Department during the "glory days" when every program was competitive on a national level. It culminated with Jerry Tarkanian's Runnin' Rebels basketball team capturing the 1990 NCAA National Championship with a 107-73 victory over Duke on April 2, 1990.

After leaving his post as UNLV AD, Rothermel spent nine years as a professor at UNLV and spent two seasons as the chief executive of the Las Vegas Bandits of the USBL.
